Dub Dub House is developing supervised opportunities for young people to build communication, teamwork, responsibility and confidence while participating in our community.

Two ways to enquire

Community volunteering

Supervised community volunteer opportunities

When suitable opportunities are available, young participants may shadow a designated adult, welcome families alongside staff, demonstrate age-appropriate activities or help with light materials organisation as part of learning and community participation. Volunteering is optional and supervised. Opportunities are not guaranteed, and volunteers do not replace required staff.

School placement

School-coordinated learning placements

Looking for a career-life exploration or school-supported placement? Start with your school coordinator or career counsellor and ask them to contact us. Any placement needs suitable duties, an approved agreement, worksite orientation and school confirmation. DDH cannot grant school credit through an ordinary expression of interest.

How it works

1

Tell us

Share your interests and the kinds of experiences you'd like to explore.

2

We review

Suitability, supervision capacity and any school requirements.

3

We meet

Guardian or school documentation as applicable, then an orientation.

4

Supervised start

Approved participation is supervised, with feedback and reflection after.

What volunteering here is not

  • Youth volunteers are never left alone in charge of children.
  • They don't handle private customer accounts, confidential records, cash or restricted equipment.
  • There is no private messaging between volunteers and children — arrangements go through DDH staff and guardians.
  • Unpaid participation is not a substitute for employment.
  • Routine productive sorting for the store, regular shifts or essential staffing duties need a separate employment or school-placement assessment.

Facilitators and session leads are different, approved operational roles — not a volunteer badge level.
